Why Microblading Prices Are Not Official

Microblading prices are not officially set in Belgium. Each professional determines their own rates.

For those with little or no eyebrows, it can feel unaffordable to regain that confidence and carefree look. It’s an investment in yourself so you can start every day radiant and self-assured.

The microblading technique cannot be compared to that of permanent makeup done with a machine. The manual motion with hands, wrists, and fingers is like gymnastics. This delicate technique requires intense practice, often months of focus and attention to detail.

The cost of professional training is quite high. It takes quite a while, often months, before you master microblading.

How to Distinguish Real Microblading from Amateur Work: Why Are Prices Different?

See the difference, love the result!

  • Hair strokes are curved, not straight lines.
  • The drawn eyebrow has a clear structure.
  • The eyebrow is drawn beforehand, and the shape suits your face and personality.

Pay attention to the clear difference between hair strokes and drawing lines or tram tracks. Curved hair strokes in microblading are much more difficult than straight lines. Real microblading, the hyper-realistic hair strokes, are different from straight lines. Do you see beautifully curved hair strokes in the eyebrows in the photos? Or do you see tram tracks, straight lines, streaks, or jagged lines? This is not microblading.

I have been a PhiBrows microblading artist since 2014. The training at Phi Academy is the top professional training for microblading.

Factors That Determine Microblading Prices

  • The condition of your eyebrows: Do you have eyebrows or suffer from alopecia? Is there a lot or little work to be done?
  • The current shape of your eyebrows: Have they been over-plucked?
  • Lack of shape due to genetic factors or other reasons
  • Skin complexity: Young or older skin, sunburned skin, or skin in poorer condition due to trauma, accidents, burns, etc.
  • Your eyebrow history: Do you need a correction from a previous microblading or permanent makeup treatment (both shape and color)?
  • The experience of your specialist: This is a key factor in the success of your microblading. Microblading requires years of experience and is not as easy as it may seem.
  • Choice of pigment: A high-quality pigment for microblading is essential.
  • Your lifestyle: Showering, sauna, hammam, swimming, sun exposure, and tanning all affect the longevity of your results.
One More Thing

Key Requirements for Microblading: Hygiene and Infection Prevention
Are you welcomed into a suitable, hygienic space? Is the cabin or practice set up according to standard hygiene guidelines? Do you feel safe when you walk into the practice, or are you treated between dusty nail tables, in a poorly ventilated room, without proper daylight, etc.? Does the trash bin overflow, is there a needle container, is the toilet clean, are there washable tiles or carpet (which can be a breeding ground for bacteria)? Do you see disinfectants?

These practical considerations might seem normal to you, but in practice, these hygiene standards are not always adhered to. So, be sure to pay attention to this. If things aren’t in order, your results will be similar.

Someone offering "low-cost" services, or charging low prices, likely cannot meet the technical, hygienic, and sanitary infrastructure requirements. Microblading is a time-consuming activity. There’s a reason for low-cost microblading.

Consult an Expert!
Ask your specialist questions. Do you see a certificate hanging? When was it issued? Is it from 15 years ago? Have you looked at their photos on social media? Do they use a camera, are the needles sterile, is the retouch included in the price, etc.? All of these factors, as listed above, are necessary for successful microblading and are significant investments.

Choosing reliability, experience, artistry, time, know-how, and professionalism – this is what you pay for.

Microblading prices start at €550, with a touch-up included after 4 weeks.
